The Wolves' Warning

The morning was eerily quiet as they stepped outside. Jas, Ivy Mae, and Roman froze when they saw them—a pack of wolves standing just at the edge of the forest, watching them. But they didn’t approach. They didn’t seem interested in the people, or even the cabin. Instead, they stood still, staring upward, their ears alert and their eyes wide with unease. It was as if something in the sky had caught their attention, something none of them could see.

The wolves turned and disappeared into the woods as suddenly as they had appeared, but the strange feeling lingered. The sky above was cloudless, yet there was a sense of tension in the air, a heavy weight that had not been there the day before.

Jas glanced at Ivy Mae, who didn’t seem surprised. “They know something we don’t,” she said quietly, her voice tense.
