Monday: A New Discovery
The morning dawned gray and heavy, a stark contrast to the restless night. Jas, Roman, and Ivy Mae poked around the property, eager to uncover more. Their exploration led them down a hidden path, where a glint of something metallic caught Roman’s eye. He pushed through overgrown shrubs and froze. “Hey, gang,” he called, motioning them over.
There it stood—an old bus, weathered but majestic. Vines clung to its sides, and a sturdy tree house loomed overhead, connected by a rope ladder. Solar panels peeked through the branches, and a tarp stretched taut, protecting it all. “I think we found our new home,” Roman said, grinning. “The Swiss Family Robinsons. Old TV show. They were shipwrecked too.”
Jas chuckled nervously, but Ivy Mae’s eyes sparkled. “Let’s check it out!”
The wind picked up, whipping through the trees. Roman hesitated. “Maybe later. This weather’s turning.”
The first hailstone hit with a crack, followed by another, then another.
