Thursday: Preparing for the Unknown
The trio spent the day organizing supplies from the bus, filling its compartments with food, medical kits, and anything else they could salvage. Jas took breaks often, their body still recovering from the injury.
“We need to be ready to leave if things get worse,” Roman said, securing a tarp over the bus’s roof.
Ivy Mae nodded. “But where would we even go?”
Jas thought back to their dream, to the glowing path that had led them forward. “I don’t know,” they said. “But I think we’ll know when the time comes.”
As night fell, they gathered around the small lantern, poring over the journal’s entries. One page caught Jas’s attention: a sketch of a large tree with the word “Haven” written beneath it.
“Do you think it’s a place?” Ivy Mae asked.
“Or a clue,” Roman added.
