Wednesday: Signs of Life
Feeling stronger, Jas ventured out with Ivy Mae and Roman to explore the bus further. The storm had left it intact, and they marveled at its quirky design—solar panels, a tiny indoor garden, and even a water filtration system.
“This could really be home,” Ivy Mae said, running her hand along the polished wooden counter.
Jas’s gaze drifted to the sky, where faint traces of auroras still shimmered. “It feels too good to be true. Like we’re being watched or tested.”
As they rummaged through the storage compartments, they found an old journal. Its pages were filled with cryptic notes about weather patterns, strange lights, and a growing fear of “the event.”
“Whoever owned this was prepared for something,” Roman said, flipping through the pages.
“And now it’s ours to figure out,” Jas murmured.
