A View From Above

 Wednesday: A View From Above

When they finally reached the hilltop, they collapsed in exhaustion, turning to face the scene below. The volcano had stopped spewing mud, but the formation it left behind was unlike anything they’d ever seen.

Towering over the clearing was a jagged rock structure, gleaming with streaks of black and silver. Its surface was slick and glass-like, reflecting the gray sky above. But as they watched, hail began to fall, bouncing off the strange formation with loud cracks.

“Look at that,” Roman said, pointing. “The hail… it’s shaping the rock.”

The group watched in awe as the relentless hailstorm carved grooves and patterns into the structure, almost as if an unseen hand were sculpting it.

“It’s… beautiful,” Ivy Mae whispered, though her voice was tinged with fear.

Jas, still weak but mesmerized, squinted at the formation. “It almost looks like… something alive.”
