The Quiet Day

 Wednesday: The Quiet Day

By the third day at the cenote, the group was starting to feel like their old selves again. Their strength had returned, and while they knew they couldn’t stay here forever, they allowed themselves a moment of peace.

Roman sat on the edge of the water, his feet dangling in the cenote as he looked at the landscape around them. “You know, I could get used to this. A life where we’re not constantly running, just enjoying the world.”

“I don’t think we can just settle here,” Ivy Mae said, but her tone was softer than usual. “There’s still too much out there… we have to keep moving. But for now, I’m thankful for this.”

Jas sat beside her, watching the ripples in the water as they slowly turned into soft waves, the water swirling as if it had a life of its own.

“I don’t know how much more I can take,” Jas admitted, his voice low. “But this… this feels like a little piece of something good in the middle of all this chaos.”
