Friday: The Rising Pressure
The journey from the ridge was no easier than the climb had been, and as they descended, they felt the weight of the world pressing down on them. The further they traveled, the more they realized that things weren’t just out of place in nature—the very fabric of reality seemed to be fraying at the edges. The atmosphere felt different, heavy, as though it were on the brink of collapse.
They trekked for what felt like days, crossing unfamiliar terrain as they moved eastward, still driven by the need to understand what was unfolding before their eyes. The animals, their silent companions, continued to follow them—almost as if they were being guided by an unseen force.
Eventually, they stopped at the edge of another strange formation, an ancient-looking stone circle, as though it had been there for millennia, waiting for them to arrive. The energy around it was palpable, and it felt like a threshold—something important. Something ancient.
“Is this it?” Ivy Mae asked, her voice barely a whisper.
“I think so,” Jas replied, their gaze fixed on the stones. “We’ve been guided here for a reason.”
Roman’s eyes darted around, trying to make sense of what was happening. “This place... it feels like a turning point. Like we’re on the cusp of something huge.”
They all stood there, facing the stone circle, knowing that the answers they were seeking—about the icebergs, the rising waters, the shifting animals, and the strange phenomenon that had pulled them all together—were just beyond reach. They were on the brink of discovering what lay hidden in the shadows of the world’s unraveling, but they weren’t sure if they were ready for the truth that awaited them.
