Wednesday:
Roman wakes from a vivid dream of a raven leading him through a dense forest, its black wings shimmering with light. When he shares the dream with Ivy Mae, she says, “The raven’s trying to tell you something.”
“Or it’s just a dream,” Roman replies.
“Dreams are stories too,” she says.
He doesn’t respond, but later, when the others are asleep, Roman sits by the fire and begins carving a raven into a larger piece of wood, adding intricate details he doesn’t remember learning but somehow knows.
