Another Chance

 Friday:

As night falls, they build a small fire on the cliff, watching the stars reflect in the ocean. Jas sits quietly, staring out at the waves. “Do you think it’ll stay like this? Alive, I mean?”

Roman sighs. “It depends. If people come back and treat it the same way they did before...” He shakes his head. “But maybe we’ve learned something. Maybe it’s not too late.”

Ivy Mae leans back, staring at the sky. “The whales, the birds, the fish...it’s like they’ve been waiting for us to notice them again. To understand we’re not alone in this world.”

Jas nods, their voice soft. “It’s like the Earth is giving us another chance.”
