Thursday: After the Procedure - Recovery
By the following day, Jas was able to sit up on their own, their arm wrapped tightly in a makeshift splint. The pain had subsided significantly, thanks to Ivy Mae’s herbal medicine and the calming effects of the pot.
Roman and Ivy Mae sat with them beside the fire, the quiet crackling of the flames filling the silence between them. Ivy Mae handed Jas a cup of herbal tea, infused with lavender and chamomile, to help them relax.
"I’m sorry I couldn’t do more," Ivy Mae said quietly, looking at Jas with a hint of guilt.
Jas smiled faintly, their eyes soft. "You did everything, Ivy Mae. I don’t think I would have made it without you."
Roman nodded in agreement. "We’re a team, remember?"
Ivy Mae smiled back, relief washing over her. She took another hit from her joint and exhaled deeply, feeling the tension in her chest finally ease. "Yeah. A team."
