Jagged (rocks), unstable footing, and steep inclines turned every step into a test of will. The mountain seemed reluctant to release them.
Roman led, despite his injury, determination overriding pain. The dog moved ahead, scouting carefully. Jas carried the heaviest load without complaint, their focus locked forward.
Ivy Mae followed, slower but steady, her leg still tender. Each step required intention. Each breath, effort.
Halfway up—
The earth trembled. 🌍⚠️
A low rumble. Then movement.
Loose stones cascaded downward in a sudden rush. Ivy Mae gasped as one grazed her shin, leaving a sharp sting and a thin line of blood.
But she didn’t stop.

Hours later—
They emerged.
Open air.
The sky above them stretched wide, painted with shimmering auroras in soft greens and purples, dancing like a silent message from the universe. 🌌
