The Journey North
Setting the Tone: The journey is slow and difficult. The land is unfamiliar, a mixture of dense forests, rocky terrain, and remnants of old roads long forgotten. The survivors must navigate using old landmarks, making their way through overgrown cities and villages that have long been abandoned. They share stories of the world that once was—some hopeful, some heartbreaking—but always with the knowledge that they’re carving a new path for themselves.
As they travel, they encounter a few signs of life: wild animals, small, isolated groups of survivors, and abandoned structures filled with memories of a forgotten time. But technology is scarce. There are no glowing screens, no constant hum of data and information. The silence of the world is both a comfort and a constant reminder of the loss they’ve endured.
